Once a rocker.
Always a rocker.
Twenty summers ago, Mabel was the bass-playing heart of The Hot Springs, a scrappy riverside band that almost made it big. These days she runs a tiny record shop, fixes old turntables, drinks her tea at exactly four o’clock and insists she is very, very retired.
Then Juno, a young otter with more enthusiasm than patience, walks in with a dusty cassette labelled “Demo ’06”. One press of play, and the songs Mabel packed away come tumbling back, along with the bandmates she hasn’t called in years.
Lou still thinks he’s a rock star. Duke still keeps perfect time, just very slowly. And the town fair still needs a band. Old Fashioned is a story about friendship, second chances and the things that never go out of style.
“Vinyl never goes out of style. Neither do I.”
